12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day Twelve!

Welcome to day 12!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoo Hoo It's almost time to give it all away!

Today is a Double prize!

So first meet Mary of Sweet Peas Totes

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm Mary and I live in Tennessee. I moved here after living in New York for 24 years. I love baking, pattern making, and of course, sewing. I've been sewing for 35 years now, and I love challenging myself to come up with new designs and ideas everyday.

How did you get started crafting?
I started sewing in Home Economics class when I was 16, and haven't stopped since. After sewing dresses, costumes, and dolls for my daughters throughout their childhood, I began creating handbags.

What is your favorite material to work with?
I like working with any type of fabric, especially one with a bold and colorful print. I also like to work with metal rings in order to give my handbags a modern look.

What is a favorite Christmas Memory?
I don't have a particular favorite memory, I just love the overall feeling of Christmas. I especially loved the holidays when my children were young. Getting to see their bright faces opening presents around the tree is what I'll always remember.

Where do you sell?
I sell my handbags and patterns on etsy at http://sweetpeatotes.etsy.com.
I also sell my patterns on youcanmakethis.com.

This gorgeous purse is one of the final items for the Grand Prize, Made by Mary

But Wait there's more!!...

The Grand Prize winner will also get a $40 gift certificate to my shop!
You can pick something pretty for you or someone you love!!

12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day Eleven!

Welcome to day 11!!!!!!!!!!!
It's almost time!!

Today meet Betsy of Foundling!

Betsy's gorgeous jewelry can often be found on Etsy's home page. I love her creative use of found objects, old textiles and print paired with sterling silver that has been oxidized to give it an aged treasured look!
Tell us a bit about you.
I'm lucky to live and work in Asheville NC, a beautiful, artsy little mountain city just a few miles down the road from the town I grew up in. I make foundling happen (with a little help from my husband, my amazing studio assistant and my dogs) in my basement studio.

How did you get started creating?
I'm happiest when I have a project of some sort in hand and I've loved that sort of thing since I was a tiny girl. Even so, my path to becoming a professional artist was convoluted. I didn't take an art class until my third year in college. When I finally did it felt so right that I couldn't do anything else. So here I am.

What is your favorite material to work with?
Anything old! I LOVE the idea that the materials were touched by other hands and have their own personal histories.

Where do you sell?
I sell online at foundling.etsy.com, at retail shows throughout the year and shops around the country.

Share a favorite Christmas memory.
My grandmother's Christmas tree still stands in my memories as the best tree--the tree all other Christmas trees wish they could be. It was not so big, but much bigger than me, and fake. The tree and it's finery took hours to detangle, set up and arrange just so. The just so part was pretty important. There were little birds that needed to clip on branches hidden a little deeper in the tree so that anyone admiring the tree might find them as a special surprise. The bubbling lights required proper spacing. It must be sprayed with some pine scent in a bottle. And someone tall was required to place the star on top--last. And then the lights could go on. It was a breathtaking sight. Gaudy as hell. Lights twinkling in every color, tinsel dripping from the branches. No rhyme or reason. Glorious

The winner of the grand prize will receive the Elise necklace . Simple and so sweet. Each one she make comes out a little different so it will be a bit of a surprise!

The winner of the daily prize today will receive on of my personal favorites from my shop!

12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day Ten!

Welcome to day 10!!!!!!!!!!

Today meet Kevin and Robyn the husband and wife design team behind TheOrangeBell. How cool is that!!!

Bit about us:
WE are Kevin and Robyn. We've been married for 12 years and live in sunny California. Kevin is an MRI technician and Robyn homeschools our three kids Sydney, Owen & Reese. We love being together and we love our cat named Henry (the kids would kill me if i didn't mention him).

How'd we get started:
It was quite by accident really. Although we're both artistic and enjoy making things this kind of just happened. We were looking for a little hobby as an outlet and after LOTS of researching and lots of reading decided to buy a torch. There were no classes to take in our area so Kevin just taught himself. He was a natural from the start. Now he's an addict! So for about 3yrs now we've had this fantastic little hobby and we love making jewelry together!

Favorite materials to work with:
Glass, fire and sterling silver

Where do you sell:
theorangebell.etsy.com and out of our home to friends and family

Favorite Christmas memory:
We Love Christmas!!! Because we live in Ca. we have to drive to the mountains to find snow...and that's exactly what we've done the last 4 years. My parents (Robyn) rent a huge cabin for all their kids and grandkids to stay in for 4days! The kids look forward to it all year b/c they get to be with all their cousins (15 total). The memories we've made are priceless!

Kevin and Robyn made this gorgeous sleek bracelet just for the giveaway! Wouldn't it look fantastic paired with your favorite jeans, a white shirt and some stylish black boots?!! Love it!Thanks Kevin and Robyn!!! The winner of the Grand Prize will get to enjoy it!

As Promised the new design stamp!!! Aren't they adorable!!!!!! My new exclusive Love Birds stamp! The winner for today's daily prize will get this cute little necklace. They also can be found in my SHOP today!

There's an opportunity for one more entry today! I'm working with a toolmaker to have more exclusive design stamps made. Is there something you'd love to see as a stamp? Let me know what you are thinking maybe I can have it made! Leave an extra comment.

12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day Nine!

Welcome to day Nine!!!!!!!!!

Today meet Katie of Cultivar

Tell us a bit about yourself:

Hello fellow craft lovers! Cultivar is created by me, Katie Reim, in Philadelphia, PA. My wonderful boyfriend, Steve, and awesome dog, Hazmat, have managed to find space to live in our art-craft-supply-explosion of a house. I went to University of Delaware for illustration and usually call myself a Freelance Illustrator, but Cultivar has managed to take over most of my creative time since February.

How did you get started crafting?:
I have been crafting since I can remember but the creation of Cultivar was pretty much a happy accidental ending to a rough 3 years. I had brain surgery in January 2009, and wasn't permitted to do much of anything during the first 6 weeks of my recovery. Sitting on the couch got boring real quick, and painting wasn't really an option. I began to cut up some formal dresses I had hanging around from high school and experimented with turning them into hair accessories for my short new hair-do. Pretty soon I had a living room full of fabric blooms and decided I may as well try to sell them on Etsy. To my surprise, I sold quite a few very quickly and things just evolved from there.

What is your favorite material to work with:
I have a pretty bad case of creative A.D.D. I love experimenting with new things whether I'm painting or crafting.

What is a favorite Christmas Memory:
Growing up my siblings and I weren't allowed sugary cereals but every Christmas we knew we'd each get a box of Lucky Charms all to ourselves!

Where do you sell?
Eco Accessories: http://www.cultivar.etsy.com/ , Illustration prints: http://www.katiejeannereim.etsy.com/ , my professional portfolio http://www.katiereim.com/

These Beautiful Flower hair pins are going in to the Grand prize for day 9!! Wouldn't they look beautiful pinned into your loosely curled hair!

Welcome to day Five!!!!!

Today meet Dana! Yep another Dana, and another amazingly talented sweet lady! Dana is the creative sweetheart behind TUTU MONKEY Where you can find adorable Tutu and cute clippies for the princesses in your life :O)

Tell us a bit about yourself.

This is my 3rd year being a Mom.....and I love it! Sarah is such a joy to be with and I am cherishing my time with her.( I mean most of the time ...be real she is 3 and has her moments) My husband and I tried for many years to have her so I am soaking it all in before she goes to school. My husband is in the Navy and will be leaving on his first deployment since we have been together. It is going to be strange to have him gone for 6 months and I am not looking forward to the "I miss my Daddy" tears that I know we are going to have around here.

How did you get started creating?

I think I have always been creating. My Grandpa , Tom, was a tinker....inventor so I think a little of his spirit is in me . Also, my Grandma Irene, was always sewing a new outfit , knitting a sweater or working in her garden and all these activities influenced me . I think of them often and wish they were around to make things with me.

What are your favorite materials to work with?
Fabric, beads, yarn and paper....ah you name it ...it's all fun

Where do you sell?
The Attic in Coronado, ETSY, Craft shows and fundraisers.

Share a favorite Christmas memory.

I added a new one last year. Sarah was 2 1/2 years old last Christmas and she loved the Coronado Christmas Tree lighting and Parade. Seeing her have a conversation with Santa was so sweet......"he is a nice guy Mama"....."I like him now". Experiencing Christmas with my daughter and my sister's children was so fun last year . I know we are in store for many more wonderful Christmas memories.

Day Five's Goodie for the grand prize is an adorable You design it Tutu. There is some little girl in your life that would LOVE to dance around Christmas morning in one of these amazing tutus. Dana designed one for our Meggie and her quality and attention to detail on them is superb!

A bit about myself:
I am a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful daughters. Been married for almost 14 years. I used to be a lawyer (yawn!) and much prefer the life of mother, soaper, quilter and crafter.

12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day three!

Welcome to Day Three!!!

Today meet Jeanette of vesselsandwares

I fell in love the the whimsical and earthy look of her dishes! Can't you just imagine sipping your morning coffee from that cute mug

Or enjoying summer berries freshly washed in this colander?

How did you get started creating?

I took pottery for high school summer school. And took classes through out college, but it wasn't until many years later that I made the jump to full-time potter.

What are your favorite materials to work with?

Clay, clay and clay. And also stamps. But mostly just clay.

Where so you sell?

Online through my etsy shops, as well as some retail locations.

Share a favorite Christmas memory.

Visiting my aunt and cousins with my family. I was probably about 8. She had a REAL gingerbread house and cats. I stole as much of the gingerbread house as I thought I could get away with, and became very allergic to the cats. So I have alternating memories of being very sick and my older brother getting the most awesome toy ever. Dark Tower by Milton Bradley. An electronic (remember when that was a big deal??!!) board game. As a kid, I was always trying to find the gifts that my parents had hidden. So I ruined the surprise for myself most years.

Today's goodie for the grand prize is...

This Whimsical little cupcake stand! I can't tell you how cut this little guy is in person. The attention to detail is perfect! A fun way to enjoy a muffin in the morning, or a great way to make anyone feel extra special when you serve them a cupcake!

Today's daily prize is a big one!!!!!
This sweet little layered oval necklace with a heart on the top layer. I can oxidize it for the winner if you prefer a rustic finish over the shiny finish. She'll be available in my shop later today if you don't win and just have to have one ;)

So how can you win this sweet necklace?

Share a favorite Christmas memory

- My favorite memory about Christmas. Going back to Sicily and dressing as Santa, scaring my nephew ( 6years old),he knew that Santa only brought gift to good boys and he was a terrible one,(seriously) he set quietly on the chair, his arms folded looking down. Everybody got their gifts and I turned towards him and said his name. Oh the look on his face, priceless!

Update on daily Prize!!!! So apparently I'm an impulsive shopper and I don't read the fine print or large in your face print. I just headed back over to vintagebella to read more on the Pumpkin Butt lip balm. Head over to her store to read it your self her explanation on it is funny!

That said it seems the lip balm was a mishap and doesn't smell too good. So I added in the Cherry Frosting Lip balm to the daily prize in case the pumpkin butt is too offensive you can still enjoy the Cherry Frosting!

12 days of Christmas Giveaway...Day one!

Welcome to day one!

Todays First item is brought to you by me :O)

A bit about me...

I'm Canela the artist behind Cinnamon*Sticks. I Married to an amazing man, Robert. We live in CA with our 6 kiddies.
I've been making jewelry for 17 years now. I've spent the last three learning metal smithing.

How did I get started creating...

I've been making jewelry ever since I could remember. Making rings out of phone wire, bracelets out of fiber and buttons, but when I was 7 or 8 my parents took me to a jewelry shop with them to get my mom a new wedding ring. The jeweler let me checkout the tools and try a 6 carat diamond ring. That was it I knew I would be making jewelry for the rest of my life!

Favorite materials to work with....

Silver! copper, natural stones, hand made lampwork beads, pearls.

Favorite Christmas memory...

When Rob and I were dating he knew how much I loved Christmas. He went out and bought a little tree and a few decorations for it and surprised me by having it all set up in his apartment when I came to visit. He hates decorating and doing crafty things so it was so very special :O)
Every Christmas since comes close though. Watching the kids faces when we go look at Christmas lights and on Christmas morning.

Where do you sell?

I sell mostly through my etsy shop cinnamonsticks I sell in a few boutiques and at an occasional craft show

Todays item for the Grand Prize is this little cutie...

I added two rimmed initial charms to the soar necklace. I just love this design! If you have more than two kids you can add yours and your honey's initials. Or give it for a friend!
This necklace will go in to the grand prize that will be available to win at the end of the 12 days!
