Finger print friday! (Auctions are still running below!)

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join in here! With Pampering Beki

So I was going to skip Finger print Friday today as much as I LOVE participating in it, in order to keep the auctions visible. But as I was looking at all the generous bids not just here but all over the blogging community I realized I was looking directly at God's fingerprints. Most of us don't know The Nielson family we came across the story somehow, and through the grace of God were just compelled to help.
So the Amazing kindness of humanity is the Finger Print of GOD that I see for this Friday.
If you would like to see it go here and see how many people have opened their heart to this family.
If you have not had the opportunity to hear about Nie Nie day you can read about it on the above link.
I have not had the pleasure of knowing Staphanie Nielson or her family, and I only came upon her story after the accident occurred. I did read her past posts, and she seems to be an amazing woman, a devoted wife and wonderful mother. It is hard to understand why tragedy happens to those who seem to least deserve it, but tragedy allows for the growth of the human spirit and an opportunity for God's grace to shine. The Grace of God has certainly reached out through the Nielson family, and will continue to do so.

All my auctions for Nie and family are still running scroll down to view them please!

Nie Nie Auction #4

This sweet bracelet is one of my very favorite little girl designs!

It features multi colored fresh water pearls in vibrant hues. They are each linked together with sterling silver wire. The charm is soldered with silver lead free solder and is double sided so it can have a initial or short message or word on each.

If you bid on this auction please know this piece may take up to three week to complete. I try my best to have items out quickly but this one is a little time consuming and with 6 wee ones time is limited!.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions!

Nie Nie Auction #3

Stephanie and Christian Nielson

100% of each auction I list is going to the Nielson family to help their family cope with the cost of recovery. I will post the whole story soon but just for those who don't know Stephanie (Nie Nie) and Christian were in a plane crash from which they sustained very serious burns. Their family is in need of help and most importantly PRAYERS.

Childs custom forged Bangle bracelet. I call it my Hug Bangle. The cross over of copper represents a little hug from you to your child that they can carry with them all day!

I will custom make this bracelet to your desired size. I will also be happy to stamp a special message or name on it.
The one is the photo belongs to my two year old daughter. (sorry the transformer that snuck in for the photo op is not up for auction!)
This bracelet is created from a long piece of pure copper wire. It is cold forged, texturized, shaped, antiqued, tumbled for strength, and finally hand polished. All edges are filed down to be smooth so it wears very comfortably.

All shipping on any auction is at my expense. These auctions will close Monday night 8:00pm PST. Please bid from the heart!

Nie Nie auction #2

These post will be short and to the point...after I have all the auctions up I will share Nie Nie's story for all those who don't already know it.

These gorgeous little earrings are completely hand crafted. I forge my own ear wires. The pearls are Japanese Biwa pearls. They have been hand wrapped with pure copper wire, and antiqued to bring out the rich warm glow of the copper against the serene white of the pearls. They are tumbled to strengthen the metal and hand polished to a gleaming shine.

I am opening the bid on these at $10 dollars. If the bid goes above $20 and the winner would prefer silver I will recreate these in Sterling silver.

Thank you for Helping Nie Nie's family! Canela

God gives us all Talents it is our choice to hide them away or to take them hone them and share them with this beautiful world!

This week I am featuring Dana of The Old Red Barn

I recently found her blog through someone elses. Dana is a sweet and earthy gal. She seems to do so much, and it is clear from reading her sweet and amusing posts that this down to earth lady adores her family.

She says in a post on her blog, "I try not to focus on my failures. Rather I just try to see the goodness, bounty and grace that comes from a happy life."

Oh does she do this! Here are some photos of her many talents...

Did I mention that she GIVES away quilts!!!! Yes those gorgeous quilts; she gives them away on her blog. Talk about sharing her talents!

In addition to sharing those beautiful quilts she make hand made soaps and bath scrubs.
She takes beautiful photographs

and she bakes!! YUMMY!
So take a couple of minutes to browse HER BLOG
Then go check out her shop of bath goodies then come back and post a comment telling me which scrub and soap set you like best because I am giving one away to a lucky blogger! I will announce a winner on Wednesday September 3rd. Best of luck!
Thank you Dana for letting me use your photos...Please do not borrow photos with out Dana's permission.

That Rockin' Jesus Music!

I usually listen to books on CD in the car, It's the only "reading" I have time for. I have however exhausted my collection.
The other day the kids wanted some music on while driving so I turned it to the local Christian station. Most of the songs are fairly mellow. A few are punk or Rock songs. So here is how the other morning went.

Kids "mom can you turn on the music?'
Me "sure"
Quiet song comes on
Gabriel "Is this Jesus Music?"
Me "Yes sweetie it is"
Gabriel "Awe man that guy is so awesome!" with a huge smile on his face and both thumbs up.
Next song comes on and it's a Punk song
Thomas "Is this still Jesus music?"
"Yes honey this song is about Jesus too"
Thomas "WOW it's Wild!" he pauses for a minute "Hey mom I LOVE this Wild Jesus music!!"
"Can we listen to this Rockin' Jesus music every day?!"

Things to write down in their notebooks :o)

Stay tuned today...I will be posting this weeks Talent Treasury in just a bit and there is a give away with it.
On the Give away note... Be sure to look at a couple of Posts Back for the Starbucks PAY IT FORWARD GIVE AWAY CHALLENGE Leave a comment to enter and participate.
Tomorrow I will be holding a silent auction for a young family whose parents were in a plane crash Be sure to check back and think about bidding to help the formal info and story will be posted here tomorrow

WARNING!!!! Creepy things about to follow!

So here is how my morning went today.
The kids got up and ready for school. Today is my last semi relaxing morning because my hubby goes back to work tomorrow. We went about our normal routine. I ushered the kids out the door, buckled car seats and seat belt. I opened my door placed my foot in the van to step in and screamed!!! All over from the gas and break pedal to my seat was an enormous web!!
Oh I HATE Spiders!!!! I know God designed everything with a purpose and I know they have their place in this world but did He have to make them so Creepy?!! All those legs and the fangs and eye balls and webs, YUCK! Creepy creepy creepy!!

So I pulled it together quickly, because I really don't want my kids to have my irrational fear of spiders. I wiped out all the web...it is amazing how fast they can build one. I climbed in the van and drove to school all the while with goose bumps imagining the nasty little black widow hiding out under my dash board. I KNOW it was just thinking to itself "Hmmm should I bite the ankle or maybe crawl up her pant leg?" Talk about the heebe geebies.
I promptly went from school to Target where I bought two cans of spider spray and doused the under side of my dash board and pedals; oh and the underside of my seat and the passenger seat and....really there is no such thing as overkill where a black widow is concerned.

I just hope i didn't short anything out in the car. But hey at least that spider will think twice before making another web in my car!

Pass on the love! Giveaway/challenge for Starbucks

Okay so It just hit me reading the sweet comments on my last post. A fun idea born from those and a commercial for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

So here is my GIVE AWAY for this week but it comes with a challenge so don't enter if you wont participate please. Leave me a comment for an entry

Next Thursday Aug 28th I will go out and buy a $10.00 dollar Starbucks card to send to my winner. Here is what I am asking you to do...

~Enjoy a cup of coffee on me

~Then refill the balance on the card enough for someone else to enjoy a specialty coffee It doesn't need to be for the full 10.

~Then post on your blog for a giveaway for the card and pass it on to someone else.
Maybe you might include enough for them to enjoy a snack too, or a recommendation for something yummy... OR even treat the person behind you to a coffee.

When you send the card on ask them to do the same blog and send enough on the card for the next person to enjoy. Who knows the card could become a world traveler.

If everyone did at least one random act of kindness each day the world would be a happier place. Joy is infections!

Have a lovely Friday!

Pay it Forward!

The other day I was at Starbucks getting my coffee fix. Let's face it with 6 little ones in tow the Starbucks drive through is one of my best friends! I ordered my usual and pulled around to the window just as the previous customer was driving away. I took out my money to hand to the young man at the window. He just smiled and said the last customer paid for your coffee.

At first I thought seriously? I asked "Your kidding with me, right?" He just handed me my coffee and said nope have a nice day. I was so touched and humbled. Some one who had never even seen me bought my coffee. It really made my day :o)

The little things make a huge difference in someones day...think about it the next time you have a couple extra bucks in your pocket. :o)

Something New :o)

So after a loooong break I have taken my torch back out!

My ultimate long term goals with my jewelry are to learn various methods of siversmithing, metal working, and lampworking and combine the two mediums.
I have delayed much of my learning while I have been pregnant for the last five years. The fumes and chemical just aren't safe for un-born babies.

Since we are taking a break from having more kids I am excited to start working again with my torch! I made some simple fused bangles and rings over the weekend. Here are a couple of them. They are made from a long pieces of sterling silver wire.
They are both in my etsy shop. Both sized for girls but I'll have mommy versions up soon :o)

LaMaison Rustique Blog~Her Party!

The Blog~Her party Craft Show was yesterday. I had a great day! I met so many talented ladies and saw their beautiful creations. I was fortunate enough to make quite a few sales. My wonderful husband stayed home with all the kids, including Nathaniel so I was able to relax and even talk to grown ups with out constantly interrupting with "don't touch that, don't push your sister", and my least favorite "please get your finger out of your nose!"
It was a warm day but my table was nestled in a corner that had one of the only breezes and shade from some gorgeous old trees!

Here are some picture of my table and a beautiful chair by Marie who was set up next to me. Her furniture is just amazing!
I am even posting a very rare picture of myself...I figured what the heck these forty extra pounds are here because this body brought life to 6 beautiful children , I'll wear the extra weight as a badge of honor while I am trying to loose it :o)
Have a blessed Sunday!

So this is what happens when i get stressed!

I was so excited to find tiny feet stamps! The possibilities are just endless for design options. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was the foot prints poem and I immediately knew how I would turn it into a bracelet.

The feet came in toady's mail!!!! So I dropped all my other projects, even though the craft show/ Blog her party is on Saturday and I have tons left to do to get ready. I got out my hammer and anvil and set to it.

I should have known better.
God wants us to be patient and it is not one of my better virtues so here is what happens when I get ahead of my self. Sigh This one is going into the oops box, and i am setting back to what needs to get finished before I can play again!

If you can't see it in the photo the H is sideways!

Ta Da!

So here they are....This design was inspired by a wall painting I saw. It's simple and clean. The center had a large initial of the family's last name and all around it were the family's first names. So here is my version if it in silver. The first works best with at least 5 names. The second is a different option for it with the last initial hanging freely and works well for a smaller family!

Thanks again Ashley and Kristen for being my guinea pigs :o)

Talent Treasury Tuesday!

Okay I know Tuesday is almost over! You'll have to forgive me...it was a fun filled day of doctors and dentists visits with the 6 little monkeys.

This week I am featuring a friend of mine. Tracy of Creme de la Gems is a Polymer Clay Artists, and her work is just incredible! She creates the most adorable tiny works of art. Her attention to detail is just impeccable. Each strand of hair is hand applied every small accessory place on one piece at a time. It never ceases to amaze me how she can recreate almost anything in clay! You can find Tracy on both ebay and etsy! Perfect for any princess.

Tracy is definitely sharing Gods gift to her, with the world. :o)

New design :O)

Happy Tuesday!

Well the new design will not be posted until tomorrow. Little Nathaniel got his shots today so he needs some extra love and cuddles!

I decided to take the first two that e-mailed and offer two versions of it. It is simple and chic.

Keep an eye out later tonight for the Tuesday Talent Treasury!

Would you like to have custom necklace at cost?

I need some help!!!

Ok I have a great design idea...at least I think it's great ;o). I would like to make it this evening but i already have a family necklace that I wear all the time so I would like to offer the first to someone else.

So here are the detail. If you would like a personalized sterling silver necklace at cost (only the cost of my supplies not fabrication and crafting time) Then send me an e-mail. I will take the first e-mail I get to keep it impartial. I will give that person the description and exact cost and if it is something they would like then I will stop with that one. If that person is not interested then I will move on to the next.

This will look best with at least 5 names (husband wife and kids or 5 kids)

Tomorrow I will post the new design and list it on Etsy.

Talent Treasury!

Three posts in one day!! I know I have no life ;o)

Actually it's I have no sleep as my hubby has been out of town since last Sunday and my adorable 3 month old has decided that 1 am to 5 am is the best time to get mommy's attention. So in my late night knee bouncing, coffee drinking, praying please sleep please sleep...I have come across some amazing treasures on etsy.

This has inspired me to start a Talent treasury. I love the parable of the Talents. Where Jesus tells the story of the servant who buried his to be safe, and the other who took his out in the world and multiplied it 100 fold (forgive my summarizing as I do not have it memorized)

Once a week I will show some of the talents that people have been blessed with and are sharing with the world! I was planning on doing this each Friday but for the sake of alliteration it will be Talent Treasury Tuesday! Enjoy...

These amazing cards are made by Kelly of happy day studio The name is too perfect! Who couldn't have a happy day after receiving one of these works of art. Kelly hand paints each one. I love the clean simple lines and vibrant colors she uses to create whimsical treasures. I know i will be doing all my card shopping here!
