Need a little cheer GIVEAWAY!!

First I will say the 100th post give away is still going to take place!! It's just been delayed :o) Now according to my blogger dash board this is post 100, but according to the archive on my side bar this is post 93 so for the sake of the delay we will say the archive is right and count from there

So what is this giveaway about?

Well my honey has been gone for four days now, and I miss him terribly! It's tough enough being a single parent for four days when you are not use to it, but to add to it I caught a horrible cold, fever body aches dizziness the whole bit!
So I need a little cheer :o)

so for the GIVEAWAY part!
Leave me a comment with your favorite Christmas memory.
What can you win you ask? A beautiful hand made Christmas ornament! I haven't photographed them yet but if you like vintage, glitter, and Crystal then you don't want to miss this one!!!!

I will choose a winner (at random) on Friday morning and announce it then. Thanks for the extra cheer :o)

I have lots of favorite Christmas memories but I will never forget the year that I got a peaches and cream Barbie and a Cabbage patch doll! I thought I was in heaven.I still don't know how my family could afford to do that for me and my sister because we were on such a tight budget. Thanks!

Oh, I love giveaways!! My favorite Christmas memory...that's a tough one, but here goes:

My mom, who passed away 8 years ago, told me that when she and my dad were newly married, she went out and bought herself a box of prunes because she loved them! She ate the entire box...I'm sure you see where this is headed!

Anyhow, Dad came to bed that night and Mom started having some "issues", if you know what I mean. Needless to say, poor Dad got out of bed to sleep on the couch because it was a little overwhelming. Mom yelled to him that everything was all better and he could come back to bed. Well, things weren't better and she "started up", again! Dad ended up moving to the couch for the remainder of the night. Remember, we're talking about PRUNES here!

Well, after I married, I shared that story with my husband and he thought it was so hilarious! So, one Christmas, we played a little joke on Mom and Dad. We gave Mom her present, which was wrapped, oh, so beautifully. She opened it up to find a huge box of prunes! She, literally, hadn't eaten any since that incident long, long ago. Mom and Dad laughed and laughed! Then, we handed Dad his pretty present...it was a gas mask!! I don't think I've seen either of my parents laugh so hard in their entire lives!! We had the best time that Christmas! Mom and Dad are both gone now, but this is one memory of them, among many others, that I'll always cherish.

Hmmm...my favorite Christmas memory is probably hiding in our linen closet with my little sis to prove to her that Santa wasn't real...we fell asleep in the closet.... "santa" found us later........

Oh my favorite memory wasnt from that long ago. It is definitly my first Christmas as a mother. My daughter was only 9 months old and I will just never forget the silly parts of the day like sticking each and every bow on top of her head after someone would open a gift, or the way she would tear little pieces of paper away and examine each and every one like the paper was the gift. now this year being pregnant and due n New Years Day I am excited at the thought of doing another Christmas like that!

Mines a bit of a two-fer.

A little background: When I was little, my Dad always read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to us. Never Ma, always Dad. Also, my husband and I were married in December.

So the year I was pregnant with our son, I gave him "Twas the Night Before Christmas" as an anniversary gift so he would have it to read to our son.

hmmm.....a Christmas memory.........one memory is when my Dad was only willing to pay $3.00 for a Christmas tree!...that's right!....but please realize i am old...so things were cheaper back "then".....but still....it was the sorriest Charlie Brown tree i had ever seen! i was quite disgruntled.....however, that little scrawny, branchless tree was so beautiful after we had decorated it! i love Charlie Brown trees NOW!

I love the times when things were simple. The silver Christmas tree with the lights changing colors by the “strobe” light sitting on the floor. The feeling that it had been five years since last Christmas not five months. Families gathering together and having a big dinner knowing you would get to open one gift and wondering who drew your name. Going outside on Christmas day to meet with all your neighborhood friends and show off your Santa gift. Just simple times.

Favorite Christmas Memory....1985 drove in 2.5 days in an old station wagon from Fort Ord California to Pontiac Michigan. Aunts uncles and cousins all together and happy! It had been our first year away from the famliy. Presents were stacked to the cieling and a feat fit for a king was served. My cousins and I being all under 10 had gotten kiddie makeovers from my aunts and were feeling beautiful in the fluffiest gowns you've ever seen. They decided to open Christmas gifts on midnight. On the stoke of midnight a new wave of energy kicked in and we were so giddy! We got sooo many barbies and baby dolls it was sick! LOL But the best present was my Grandpa unveiling an excersize bike he had successfully stashed and she was sooo surprised she started to cry. Then Grandpa started to cry! We all started to cry! I'd have to say that was the last time I can honstly say that we all have been able to get together at the same time without any drama whatsoever.

One of my favorite memories is when my oldest sister and her family were moving back from Japan. It is the last time all of my family was together for Christmas. Since they were on a totally different time schedule all her kids woke up at about 3:00 a.m. They tried to keep them downstairs for a while and made it until about 5:00 a.m. The rest of us got woken up to "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" BLASTED through the house. We all laugh anytime we hear that song.

For years on Christmas Eve, our family would gather at Grandma and Grandpa's house, After dinner, all the cousins would climb into Great Grandpa Golf Cart and he would take of for a ride about the neighbor hood while we sang Chirstmas Carols to all the older folks. We did this for years, I was out of High School, when we finally started to walk the streets to sing, Great Grandpa was getting a little too old to drive, he was 90. Thanks for letting me share, he has passed on since each year us grand kids always remember/talk about the fun we had with him.

My favorite Christmas memory was one year in Denver there was a blizzard, and we had to dig our way accross the street to go have Christmas dinner. It was my favorite bcause I had prayed and prayed for snow, and when I woke up the next morning, I definately got what I had asked for.

My favorite memory is making homemade Christmas ornaments out of dough, cooking them, and then painting them with my mom and brother. We didn't have much money for gifts so we would do this and give them to all of the relatives. We still have some after all of these years. I cherish these memories because it was true family time, simple and sweet. Not all of the commercialism that sometimes accompanies the holidays now.
