If you're dying to have one for yourself I still have a couple available in my shop ;o)
On the Fourth day of Christmas......Day Four of the 12 days GIVEAWAY!
Meet Kelly of Happyday Studio
Tell us a bit about you and your Family:
I am the youngest of five, three brothers and a sister. The next one up from me is fourteen years older, and my oldest brother has two daughters my own age! I was born on Thanksgiving, and my mother says she named me by watching the Mickey Mouse Club when she was pregnant with me (you know how they would pop up and say their names? One of them was Kelly) ;)I've now been married for five years to my great husband, and we have a three year old son who is just such a funny and amazing kid! I am a stay-at-home mom, and I love to paint and draw when I can find time. We live on an old Christmas tree farm in Townsend, MA with our cat named Slorg, and some really big goldfish.
What do you create and what inspires you?:
I create handpainted greeting cards and art. I am always asked why I don't make prints of my work (because it would be alot easier!), but I absolutely love making each card by hand! I love to see brushstrokes, and pencil lines, and the artist's hand in their work. I now work mainly with watercolor, pencil, and ink.. but I also like acrylics and colored pencil.I am inspired by my son's smile and laughter... toys... the mix of colors in a pile of laundry... nature... You name it! I love anything happy! :)
My Favorite Christmas Memory:
I don't know if this is my favorite memory of Christmas, but I'll never forget it! Last year was the first year my son would really understand Santa and waking up to presents on Christmas morning. I was so excited when Santa dropped off a child size kitchen set at our house *wink wink* and I decided I would set it up and have it ready for my son to see in the morning. I sent my husband to bed, put on "A Christmas Story" and opened the box. I wasn't prepared to see about 1000 or more pieces that had to be punched out, cut, screwed together.. It took me all night (I only cut myself once!) and I watched that movie four and a half times! I didn't even go to bed that night, but to see my son's face in the morning made it all worth it :) I can't wait to help Santa again this year! Hopefully he'll choose something with fewer parts ;)
Thanks Kelly!
